10th Annual McGill-Queen’s Graduate Conference in History, to be held in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, March 1-2, 2013.

Interstices: Interrogating the Past and Its Relevance to the Present

Call for Papers

Deadline: December 15, 2012

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Heather MacDougall, University of Waterloo

“Rethinking Healthcare’s Past and Present: History and Current Policy Debates”

Luncheon Speaker: Dr. Pamela Peacock, Museum of Health Care at Kingston an intervening space or an interval in time

We mark the 10th anniversary of the McGill-Queen’s Graduate Conference in History by inviting graduate scholars from across the disciplines to submit papers on any history-related topic.  Professor MacDougall’s address on history and health care policy encourages us to reflect on the uses of history outside of the academy and on the historical roots of present day issues – in other words, the interstices between the disciplines, between academic and professional life, and between the past and present.

We invite proposals from any geographic region or temporal period.  Interdisciplinary submissions are welcome.

Please submit a 300-word abstract for a 20-minute paper as well as a one-page CV to by December 15, 2012.

Kendall Garton and Angela Duffett

McGill-Queen’s Conference Co-Chairs
